About Chantel Rhondeau

Chantel once thought a great mystery or fantasy book with strong romantic themes was the highest level of reading bliss. After reading her first romantic suspense novel, she never looked back. Before long, the need to create her own stories took over. She spends her daytime in the clinical profession of medical transcriptionist, but her passion is in the blissful hours she spends with her characters in the evenings.

Chantel lives in the western United States. When she isn’t writing, she loves playing cards with her family, going bowling, and snuggling with her lazy kitties.

I really enjoyed this book. My heart went out to Lilly and her fears of being abused again. I also liked how the characters got to know each other BEFORE sleeping together. The chemistry between Lilly and Zach was also amazing.

Great story. Although sometimes I seriously wanted to shake the characters out of frustration because of the misunderstandings!

I loved this book. The big attraction for me was that the characters had flaws; both Zack and Lilley. I'm not fond of alpha male romance and Zack was perfect. He lacked some confidence which made him endearing. Lilly had issues from the past which she had a hard time shaking, but that was understandable given what she had been through. At times I screamed at both characters, but that was because I was so drawn into the story, I felt a part of it.

It was well written and has all the elements that kept me turning the pages. The author is truly talented in bringing the story to life.

Lily is a heroine you'll love to cheer for. An abused woman, she runs from an unjust accusation to start a new life as a companion to a wealthy matriarch, one who just happens to have an unhappy hunk of a grandson.

Their love story begins with deception and through many trials, excitement and danger, ends with trust. Zach is a hero any woman would want to take home. Several times when I was reading the book, I screamed at Lily. "If you don't want him, send him to me!" He was considerate and caring, always thinking of what would be good for Lilly. He was also quick to forgive her and understood her issues, dealing with low self-esteem and guilt.

The warning is spot on. If you enjoy a bit of steam, this book's for you. Zach and Lilly know how to enjoy each other thoroughly despite the danger at their door. 5 stars and a bang-up debut for a new author!
