Todd Young writes books that sit on the borderline between gay erotica and m/m romance.
Generally, I aim to write erotica that goes a little further than the average. I spend a lot of time on my characters, trying to make them as believable as possible. While my stories are sexual fantasies, I want them to have a deeper meaning, and a quality of unexpectedness. To some degree, I am attempting to write literature, but more importantly, I want my stories to be genuinely engaging. I want them to be easy to read, while at the same time leaving the reader with the feeling that they have read something meaningful.
I hope both men and women will find my stories satisfying. They revolve around romance, though there is often much more going on in the texts.

Good read, and pretty funny too.

This proved to be a difficult read and a difficult one to rate. Had it been only for the feeling it left me with, I would have rated it somewhere between 1 and 2 stars. However, the story itself deserves 3 stars.
I didn't like the characters. I found Bradley too attached to Justin, too stupid to realise he was being used and lead on only to ensure that Justin's every whim was fulfilled. It was hard to believe he was able to come from practically any touch or thought. I hated Justin for showing Bradley kindness sparsely, teasing him with something he knew Bradley desperately needed (who sits around with his privates exposed and still claim he's not gay?).
I couldn't believe Tom and his gang would get away with stripping a guy naked at a gathering and then poor Bradley would actually have to stand naked in front of the entire assembly. And the final scene where Bradley ends up being raped by Tom (as I can't call that consensual) and Bradley doesn't seem affected, although he had vehemently and repeatedly stated he wanted Justin to be his first...only to have Justin end the book with asking for sexual favors, jockstrap included. Too weird for words.
The reason I think this deserves 3 stars is because, although I found it hard to finish the story, it seemed believable. I could very well imagine this actually happening to someone. A guileless teenager being tricked into porn and being used by so called friends. I was left with a sour taste in my mouth after this. But it's still a probability that happens.

A bit heavier on the humiliation and guilt than suits my taste, but readers who are into humiliation kink and stories about abusive relationships should love it. I almost want a sequel where Bradley sorts out that how Justin treats him is *abuse,* not just clueless selfishness.

While overall I did enjoy it, the plot had something in lacking. The character's were kind of believable yet also not. I believe everyone has their boiling points, but at the mid point in the story, I got tired of Bradley putting up with Justin's abuse. I did however believe in the amount of shit Brad had to do to make end's meet, even with Justin living there. I'm also kind of intrigued by Tom White and how he might play more of a role if he does, perhaps a romantic rival who knows. Still, Justin reminds me of the stereotypical homophobic guy who doesn't wanna be called but basically does all the same stuff gays do. Not the best review I know. Other than that, I really had no other issues. Good grammar, no real issues I noticed in terms of continuity issues. While an erotica book at best, plot could have been stepped up a notch, but the author did say it was something simple so its excusable.

I enjoyed this short story. Yes, I agree with other reviewers in that I wanted Brad to stop putting up with users. But it's a story, and that happens. A lot.
Enjoyable, fast reading.

I loved the story line and it was well written, but I was upset with Brad's character because he was taken advantage of by Justin. I wanted him to stand up for himself and tell Justin off.

Young love is hard, no matter who it is. This story developing angst and deep emotional pain in not fitting in among his with his school mates. Their thoughtless cruelty, and his reaction adds to his confusion. Brads focus on day to day survival and looking after the physical needs of Justin while stuffing his own emotional needs. Loved the story in its innocence of self discovery.

Todd writes well and this book is well presented and edited. The main character is a confused, innocent, young gay guy who is put-upon by just about everyone he comes in contact with including the guy he is keen on and lets live in his apartment, who is a user.
It wasn't my thing, but if you like gay fiction that is about confused young guys discovering things about sex, go for it.
