About Sandra Petro Hart

The author grew up in New York State in a large Italian-American community where Italian customs and traditions were celebrated with enthusiasm. Inspired by her Italian immigrant grandparents she became interested in genealogy research as it relates to the millions of Italians who came to the U.S. during the late 19th century and early 20th century. Her ancestors, their life in Italy, the prejudices they endured, and the challenges they faced both in Italy and in America are the backdrop for much of her writing.

I too, am a part of this "Sutton Park Family". I cried when I read this, as it surely proves that family means so much more than blood. Thank you Sandy (second mom) for writing this. One thing is certain, we will all remember this adventure!

I am part of that Sutton Park "family" and remember it with only the best thoughts. What a great period of time in our lives. I hope others enjoy this story as much as I did. Thank you Sandy.

Love the book and this family, always have and always will. I remember everything about that time and laugh a lot when I think back. Also relieved when I found out I, in fact, did not start the fire!

This essay proves that family is a heart-to-heart connection, not just genetic. Wonderful story.
