About Amanda Surowitz

Writing was not my first career choice, even though I’ve been writing stories since I was six. My brother inspired me to attempt writing a full novel when I was 10, which has subsequently been dubbed “The Abomination” and occasionally serves as fodder for blog posts about bad novel writing (don’t worry; we’ve all been there).

When I’m not sharing my experiences as a writer, editor and artist, I’m usually — you guessed it — doing one of the three. And since I graduated from Savannah College of Art and Design in 2015 with a B.F.A. in writing, I get to do it professionally.

After searching various book stores for the authors I fell in love with as a kid, I noticed the stories I hold dearest are young adult fantasies. I’ve made it my goal to write same sort of adventures that have stayed with me.

The ending scene is well written and engaging, what would the choice and the motivation be?

A good short read, will be looking for more.

A decent story which questions what constitutes justice. Quite well written, characterisation was certainly there but it was a little lacking in terms of description - what did things/people/places look/sound/smell like?

I wanted to like this story, but it was overwritten and melodramatic.
