About Kim Hornsby

Kim was once a Maui scuba instructor by day and sang with her band in the hotels by night. She drove a sports car and led a charmed single life. After meeting her Prince Charming in a Puerto Vallarta dream date contest, they moved stateside and twenty two years later have a 18 year old soccer-playing son and a twelve-year-old writer daughter. She resides in a big messy house with her family and two very disobedient dogs, overlooking a lake near Seattle. Writing books about women having adventures is her dream job and she loves to hear from readers.
Kiki is a nickname she uses for her lighter, novellas that are strictly contemporary romance.

A good scenario and, in most respects, a very good story. Aside from the two main protagonists there are a lack of characters in this story - Philip is written out of the action quite early on, and Liam doesn't have all that much of a presence. The other contestants were glossed over, with passing references to their respective motivations for being on the show - I'd have liked to have met some of these characters and witnessed just how Jaxie interacted with them and learnt about them rather than just have Jaxie sum it all up in her thoughts afterwards.
We're told that Crane's full name is David Cranely - but then that gets forgotten and he's David Crane for the remainder of the story. And I spotted at least four instances where the wrong character name had been used in the text (eg "Jaxie usually went for the big muscular men, like Brent, the hunk type. But looking at Brent, she wondered why." - It should be looking at *Crane*, surely?)
There's a hint that Liam has some ulterior motive for being on the show, I was waiting for some revelation on this but it never came.
On the whole though, very good.
