About Arch DeNight

"What is a word but combination of letters? Jumbled and juggled by the writer's mind. One thing I know for sure is, words, for me, are an amazing escapade. Being typed, being read, being said, all the same. An escapade. To the world of everything and nothing at the same time."

Arch DeNight is a young woman who likes to think, to talk, and to type about many things. Having a degree in Psychology, she doesn't think that she understands human better than before having one. Human being, for her, is not a book that can be read--but they can always be observed for fun. Currently residing in a tropical Southeast Asian country, she spends her time playing online games, daydreaming, typing, and of course... making contact with other human beings.

This was a good story idea, but it's a bit rough around the edges. The mystery starts to build up nicely but then we're suddenly given all the answers in a couple of lengthy speeches, which is the most unsatisfying way to resolve it. I'd have preferred not to have been told everything, just to have been given hints and clues.
Also the story starts off as though we're following Emily as the main character, then it just sort of switches to her grandparents.
There were several punctuation and spelling errors too.
Overall, this had the potential to be a 4 or even a 5, but in this form it only merits a 3.

Good short story. I was entertained and don't want to say more and give away the plot.

Good writing combined with an original premise; although the witches' dialogue was a bit juvenile at times. Overall however a good read. The Broken Needles witches are interesting characters. At the end I found myself wanting to read more about them. Hopefully DeNight will write more Broken Needles stories.
