About Robert Hilliard

Robert Hilliard is a professional environmental scientist who has written about sports, history, and the outdoors for nearly two decades. After earning a B.S. in Biology and working as an environmental consultant, he decided to simultaneously pursue a freelance writing career.

Rob started writing on environmental issues, sports, and local history for the "Pittsburgh Tribune-Review" newspaper. From there he became a contributing editor with "Ohio Valley Outdoors" magazine, where he created the popular column, "In the Public Domain."

Rob has written numerous feature articles for magazines such as "Upland Almanac," "Pheasants Forever Journal," "Pennsylvania Wildlife," "Pittsburgh History Magazine," ESPNOutdoors.com, "Ohio Game and Fish," and "Pennsylvania Game and Fish." He also did on-air features as the 'Deer Expert' for WPXI-TV News in Pittsburgh.

With his strong interest in Pennsylvania history, Rob has contributed to several historical society publications. As a result, he was selected to become a contributing author for the 2000 book "Rivers of Destiny," celebrating the 200th anniversary of Beaver County, PA.

This is a wonderful book for anyone that enjoys the outdoors,While many hunters can and will relate to the story non hunters will find it enjoyable.
