Elaina Roberts lives in in a small Alabama town with her extended family and an incredibly stupid dog. She has traveled various parts of Europe beside her (now) retired military husband and longs to return as a tourist. Though she enjoys exploring the many cultures outside the United States, she’s always glad to return to the intensely hot summers, mild winters, delicious sweet tea, and vast amounts of pristine woodlands of the Southeast.
She enjoys bending reality to her will, altering locations, history, and even mythology if it suits the storyline to do so. With so many fantastic creatures and beings populating her stories, she strives to make characters that are believable, no matter their race, and stories that the reader can connect to. Sometimes they contain dark content and sometimes the stories themselves are dark, but the world can be a dark place. It is in working through the darkness to find the light at the end that one finds the greatest rewards.

This is such a great read. I read it on another site about 2 years ago, then it was removed from that site (I'm assuming it was because she published it). I've been google searching for it FOREVER. Ecstatic to find it and purchase it. I will consider it the best Christmas present ever if the author releases the other story she had on the other site- which I'm hoping is what will be book two.
Thankful for an author who develops a plot w a strong heroine. Also thankful for an author that doesn't break everything and every back story down. Nothing more makes me annoyed then when authors assume their reader is stupid and they breakdown every little nook and cranny into a description/explanation.
On a side note- Roberts creates an excellent wide world of "others" and brings up the realistic points I always wondered about- like- so if a vampire finds her mate- and it turns out she's already married- then what?
Roberts world building is as good as Thea Harrison's Elder Races series.
Completely recommend this book....

Loved this book. So glad I found it. I had read this when it was published previously and although it had changed a bit it's still an amazing story. I love the world that this author creates.

Can't believe i'm actually the first to review this on smashwords. As usual, the edited version is better than the first version that Mazuri first published. Love it and will continue to support. =) Can't wait for Vol 2 and Vol 3.
