James is a retired French teacher and businessman.He likes to read, go for walks, prefers warm weather, driving his sports car, spending a day at the horse races, and occasionally going to an art gallery. He has had a number of short stories published in Canadian and American numismatic publications. Recently, he won an Editor's Choice Award from the Ohio State Numismatic Association for his short story Miss Daisy.

Not really a full review, I never finished reading it.
I think the word required on the first page is antidote, not anecdote.
I found those first few paragraphs much too florid, overburdened with over-clever descriptive passages and over-long sentences. This might be a device used to paint a picture of the character but it was a drudge to read through and so I stopped. I skipped to the end pages and the style was much improved.
