About Christine Coppage

Christine is an elementary teacher in Maryland. This is her first children’s book, which was written when she was an undergraduate at Towson University. It wasn’t until she read Goldie the Golden Trout to her class that she realized how powerful the message was to children.

“When I finished reading the book, my students could not stop clapping and applauding. At that point I hadn’t even told them that I wrote the book. After all the cheering, I told them and they couldn’t believe it.”

Christine is married to Patrick, who inspired her to use trout as her characters in her book. “Pat is always fishing. So, once I learned about the different types of Rainbow Trout, I thought it would be fun to create a story using them.”
She also enjoys spending time with family, especially Pat, her daughter Sophia, and her dog Mako.

A sweet children’s book to read to your little ones; this book has a wonderful lesson of how we need to learn to respect/accept diversity and learn to love ourselves.
