The writer has shown her ability to incorporate the language and culture of the period, which conflict with the hero's ideas and emotions. As a result he forsakes much of the expectations of his time and marries the woman he loves. In the second part, which takes place in modern times, the reader is led through the hero's conflicts and fears, which stand in the way of his romance and marriage. However, the writer has managed to handle the plot and characters with skill. Finally, she weaves the two stories together in a satisfying finale. Good reading.
