Collected Western Stories

This Collection is inspired by the American West. They are stories of adventurers and explorers of the lands inhabited by the Native Americans who had to constantly fight the newcomers whom they considered as invaders. The stories develop paradoxal heroes: settlers and their families, risking all to begin a new life as well as the gunfighters who sought to impose the rule of the gun. More

About Paul Morrison

Paul Morrison
Paul Morrison is a historian and a museologist who was born in Tasmania, Australia in 1953. He had to wait for a long time till he could dedicate entirely to his writing career. Sharing his time between his work in Sydney and a private Museum he co-founded with his brother, he kept writing and researching for the series and trilogies he is now free to produce.
After publishing his stories in The Quarterly Reader and also editing the museum newsletter, the Lower Deck he was invited to compile and write the History of HMS Consort, a post-World War II destroyer, entitled Loyal and Steadfast. While researching and acquiring artifacts for the museum Paul kept producing his collected series which he now re-publishes in an e-book format.
In 2009, Paul finally retired from his full time work in Sydney and got a Leave from the Museum in order to move to Brazil to marry his girlfriend. Being retired, he could also start his research trips around the world. His first trilogy came after three long years and is a historical fiction work that tells the epic saga of the Giza Plateau, the construction of the pyramids and the life of the Great Pharaohs of the IV Dynasty.
After finishing his trilogy he came back to Australia and published the first book, The Pharaoh which is about the life and times of Pharaoh Khufu. The first printed book of the trilogy is available at his site and also at the book signings also announced at the site.
The present project involves the launching of the already printed books in the e-book format and at the moment Paul is developing his last book on the Giza Plateau, a companion book to the trilogy he finished writing in 2012. Parallel to these developments Paul is committed to the Series called the Pacific Navigators which is well developed and will be soon released. He is also currently working on the America Series as well as his science fiction series to be released in the next few years. Paul is a prolific writer who writes more than three thousand words a day and in his in-house publishing company works to prepare his books and distribute them.
The Sand God and The Time Traveller are also being launched in e-book format and according to Paul these books were developed while he was working to publish the first book of his Giza Trilogy. They were both written in Australia where Paul is now living with his wife.

The Review
Still enjoy the memories of old Western films and the piles of books about wild west on my father’s table. It was thinking of these moments that I started reading this collection of this author I learnt to enjoy in so many other stories and genres.
Another Smashwords’s treasure for all those who dig around about this particular genre whether if you are thinking about Gold Fever that even nowadays turns the minds of adventurers upside down, the possibility of exploring the beginnings of this immense Canvas that is the new continent and the challenges it presented to the explorers, the struggle of the native Americans to defend their way of life, the gains and losses portrayed by every story and adventure.
A reading I would share with my old man if he were still around. I loved the reading and the opportunity to relive so many moments shared with my sweet father.
