Mangled Hearts is the first book in the Scarred Hearts series. The story is about Francesca and Cade. It is raw emotion, realistic and not your typical love story.

Francesca is a lawyer and is getting frustrated because she feels like her firm is not utilizing her skills. She finally gets a case and she has to represent Cade Welling...the boy that stole her heart in high school. Cade Welling is handsome, reckless and always in trouble. He was in high school and seems to be continuing that trend years later. Even with his reckless and troublesome behavior, he has very strong feelings for Francesca and sees this as a second chance...or is it a way to have closure? Guess you’ll have to read to find out!

I really enjoyed this story. I couldn’t put it down. I loved Francesca’s interactions with everyone. She is a smart, independent woman and isn’t afraid to truly stand for what she believes in. Even though Cade had a lot of negative things going for him, I think that he is a genuinely good person underneath his not so great behavior. It is hard to admit when you have a problem (or problems). I think Francesca and Cade made each other stronger in different ways. Both had some flaws and they complimented each other well. I loved the chemistry they had and felt like I was truly a part of their story. Things weren’t perfect in their story and it felt real

I have read a few stories now by Felicia Tatum and have loved everything thus far. Keep up the awesome work. Looking forward to more!

I never thought I'd get affected while reading this beautiful book. On the first night that I got this book, as I lay on my bed imagining what might have happened between Francesca & Cade in the past, I knew that somehow this past will catch up on them in the future. What I learned about them just sets me crying and sobbing on my pillow. Darn, Felicia Tatum did this to me! Yes, you mad me cry to sleep after reading your book, Ms. Tatum. But don't worry, I'm not mad at you. I was just overwhelmed.

The heartbreak, the reunion, Cade's drunken fit, Francesca's emotional turmoil, all these and more made this novel a very captivating read. Francesca is the Yin to Cade's Yang, that's how I see them. They really fit together. I couldn't wait to read the next story.

  I ABSOLUTELY loved it!! ★★★★★

This is the first time I read anything from Felicia Tatum,  and she definitely rocked my socks off! This book had my attention from the very first page! It was sweet and loving and most of all it showed some people do get that second chance. I really enjoyed reading from both POVs, What I found so great about this book is the way the book shifts back and forth between the present and the past, I love getting to see how things went sour and understand the story more. It was just a perfect read for me and I would definitely recommend it!!!!!  I can't wait to read Felicia's next books! Mangled Hearts is a sweet love story and Francesca and Cade will captivate your heart and make you not want to put the book down.

This book grabbed me from the first page. I loved how the story line kept me wondering about why Francesca had issues with Cade. Until I read every word of the book I didnt fully understand. But you have to read this book. I give it 5 stars.

I loved it!! Ahh, Cade.. haha!!

I love the story and of course, the POVs of both characters!! I love how the author made this book intriguing and the same time easy to read. You can easily follow the story and the timeline.

As I was reading the first few chapters, I was really intrigued what was the reason why Francesca and Cade's issue.. It made you think the possibilities of the issues and it encouraged me to finish the book. And the way the story ends was good and I love how one's love can change the bad habits of a person.. =)

Wow, when I first started reading this book-- it brought to home so many issues that this couple faced. First, let me say that addiction has touched home for my family, and this story could be someones "true story." It is that believable, and it is accurate!!! I lost a niece basically the same way, so yes-- it made me cry, it made me remember, and it made me feel all over again.

This time however, I was on the outside looking in on the inside. I wasn't the person pushing for punishment of the individual responsible. I never thought about the person who was responsible-- but Ms. Tatum made me do that. She made me look at the other side.

As a reader, I had to see both sides of the story to accurately review it-- I had to experience what the person felt, saw and experienced....I had to forgive too. This book really truly touched me on the inside. I'm not sure what most authors look for when writing and getting reviews but this book, this author--- has forever imprinted herself into my mind. No it's not a bed of roses, nor was it meant to be. It is a deep well of emotions that runs rampant until we find the ability to go on and decide to live for those that are left behind. Internal healing, that is what this book is! Well done Ms. Tatum, and a title fitting for this wonderful story of life and love.

I loved this story it felt so real. As if the characters could be real people in the world today; the characters were written so well. With more than enough backgrounds, that you are not left wondering something about them. I liked how the story was told it folded so well and it seemed it could not happen any other way for them. There was great detail in describing scenes and emotions in the book that made you feel for the characters. Also it was not just the main characters that the author made feel real but the others that added to the story they were each different.
I liked the story of the book was giving love a chance and finally going after it if you have to. As the story progressed you can see how the characters grow in their own ways to finally be what the other needs to fight for each other. I think the author wrote about a good topic and showing that it can be overcome if you really want especially if you want to change for the one you love. I love how Caden wants to prove he was worthy, for the one girl he has always loved.
I give this book five stars because I truly enjoyed it all the ups and downs and how the author would only give you certain flashbacks to prepare you for their past, she worked up to it. I am a hopeless romantic I was so invested in the characters I was pulling for them to somehow get together. So if you love romance, this is the book for you as you follow these characters find their way back to each other no matter what.

I received this book early in exchange for a review. It was a beautiful story! It was heartwarming, sad, it contains love unrequited, self destruction, and a kitty. ( I didn't want to get maudlin). It was written in a easy read mode. I was actually vested in the characters. Cade is the self destructive, self deprecating, love of Francesca's life. She was his only love, but never really knew it. It starts in high school, then one night tragedy struck, and it changed both their lives. Now enough story, I enjoyed this book as it touched my heart. Knowing alcoholics, it is a subject dear to me. The author handled it with aplomb. She showed the emotional highs and lows one can go through to the point of illness, the stress and damages it causes in all aspects of one's life. Yet she doesn't dwell on the darkness as much as how with love, support, and professional assistance and the patient's desire, they can, with a lot of work change their life for the better! My only issue was that the writer never got into the relationship between Cade and his father, only alluding to its beginning. I would have liked more background story. Again this is my only issue. Then it would have been a longer book, and I can see that the author was not telling that story, but Cade and Francesca's. I found it uplifting and know others will as well.

4.5 stars

This is a story about old friends who had a feelings for each other but a classic case of boys raging hormones getting in the way. The story starts with Francesca, who is now a lawyer struggling to prove herself in her firm and struggling with her past. Cole...who is just struggling with life. It's clear from the START that he has a serious drinking problem and has for a long time. They haven't spoken in over 7 years and they hook up again when Francesca handles a case for Cole.

The flashbacks give us a nice insight into their friendship and budding romance in high school. Most of the time you just want to slap Cole across the face because he is just acting like a jerk. Granted, he is drunk...but still.

I liked the story. I felt it was fresh. I read it in less than 24 hours and I really liked the ending of the story. Not to give anything away, I loved the letters exchanged between them. Also, I REALLY APPRECIATED THAT I DID NOT NOTICE ANY EDITING ERRORS. It is so hard these days to find books by indie authors that are not riddled with errors. This may be small to some, but it is HUGE to me :-)

I give this 4.5 stars because I felt the ending was rushed. I would have liked an epilogue or maybe 20 more pages? I also felt like in the beginning, where character development should be rich, they fell a little flat. Especially Cole. I really didn't connect with him. I connected more with him at the end....but by that time, the book was almost over, which is why I wanted the book to be a little longer.

I would recommend this book. It was worth the read and its not often that I read a book in less than 24 hours.

*I received this book in exchange for an honest review.*

This was a really sweet story. There were many aspects of it that I loved, including the flashbacks. Each time we got a flashback, I felt a little more connected to Cade and Francesca and their relationship. Since this was a second chance romance, the flashbacks are what really made me feel connected to their past and whatever connection they had then. They were just such a nice addition; I looked forward to them. Plus, they were adorable.

I also love Francesca's strength. I love a strong heroine, so watching Francesca stand up for herself was incredible. It also helped that, since she was a bit weaker in the past and we saw that in the flashbacks, we got to see her growth as a character. She was strong and wouldn't take crap from anyone. She knew what she deserved, and she was going to make sure she got it.

Cade, my darling Cade. I loved him. I felt for him. He was beautiful. I loved him even more in the end, when he finally came to his senses, and everything was beautiful. Those darn letters were so freaking cute, UGH. I kept squealing because I was excited, which prompted my brother to keep making fun of me, but I don't care. I think the ending was my favorite part. It was adorable and perfect, and I don't know, it felt right. I felt pretty satisfied by the end. I was super giddy from all of it.

I felt some things were just a little rushed. I also would have liked another confrontation with a certain someone, involving all three of them. I think that could have really done wonders. However, I am satisfied with what I was given, and I'm obviously not going to punish the writer for not including something I wanted. I mean, come on, how irrational is that? She's not a mind-reader.

Overall, this was a very cute, sweet story about second chances, and I'm so pleased to have come across it. She made me fall in love with every single character. Can we hear more from Cason? Bree and Ally? Zander? Daphne? I loved them all. I'm definitely going to keep my eye on Ms. Tatum. Give this book a chance. You just might fall in love with it.

This is such a sweet story. I really enjoyed it. I think Felicia is a good writer I love her White Aura series. The only problem I had with the story is why Cade started sneaking alcohol at such a young age. I get he didn't have a good relationship with his dad...but I just feel like it would have made the story a little more powerful if there had been some tragedy that had lead him on the path to self destruction. I mean his brother didn't turn out to be a alcoholic.
But anyways...yes I would recommend this to my romance lover friends....who doesn't love a good love story?!
