About J.R. Leckman

I live in Colorado with a beautiful wife and lots of pets. I currently go to school for physics, but writing is my number 1 passion.

Growing up, I used to think of books as windows that allowed me to peek into other worlds. In kindergarten, I cut my teeth on the Hardy Boys and Nancy Drew. Terry Brooks was waiting for me in 4th grade, and I have travelled many places since. I hope you enjoy the trip to the worlds of my creation, and am always excited to hear about your journey there.

This writer should keep working on it. The stories are getting better.

Good story, characters were nicely drawn, and some excellent descriptive language.

Tip: try to eliminate "began" wherever you can - e.g. instead of "His heart began racing again..." just write "his heart raced again".

Also, watch out for repetition: e.g. "As her eyes looked around the room, her eyes caught..."

Other than that, nice work!

I downloaded this because it was in the free "most downloaded" category. Though I'm afraid I can't agree with the five star reviews, I would like to thank the author for an oportunity to read a free short story. Good luck and may you continue to find happiness in your passion for writing and your study of physics. (it's in his bio)

A well-crafted story around a preposterous premise.

More goodness packed in than in some stories I've read that are three times as long. Loved and wasn't expecting the ending. Highly recommend.
