About Raquel Lyon

Raquel Lyon is an English author, who writes YA fantasy and NA contemporary romance stories. Her heroines are kinda kooky, her heroes slightly devilish, and her romance a bit on the raunchy side. If the sun is out, so is she. She has a crazy sugar addiction and eats ice cubes as if they’re going out of fashion.

Review by: chucklesthescot on April 14, 2014 :
Sophie is getting ready to leave the town she hates for college with her best friend Beth when she gets to know Sam who always seems to be there when she gets into trouble.

This was a slow story for just 30 pages, the plot was a bit bleak and grim and I didn't really connect to any of the characters. Sophie sure can get into a lot of trouble in a short period of time-almost drowned, almost raped etc. Beth is a selfish, dumb slut who has no consideration for Sophie and only cares about bedding random guys. I can't stand that kind of character. Sam was a decent character but we mostly see him just saving Sophie all the time so it's hard to learn much about him.

The whole story is just a tale of Sophie's woes about her horrible town, her poor family life, the bullies who harrass her, her selfish friend, getting attacked and a dead animal. There was nothing really in this story that excited me or made me want to go and read the series.

Not for me I'm afraid.
