Good, would be even better as a full novel.

Very Good! The 2nd half of the book is the prequel, which is also great.
I would like to see this expanded into a bigger story.

'Bad Jump' speculates on what would happen if teleportation technology existed. It reminded me a bit of Vernor Vinge's peace war books. I found it a pleasant read and have no problems recommding the story, though I do have some (friendly) cricisms. First, I thought it could have benefitted from another round of proofreading. And second, the pacing seemed off - rushing one moment and crawling the next.
