About Mike Carss

Mike Carss, better known as Altus for his musical output, always had a love for creative writing, but never attempted to pursue it until recently.

The creation of his first story (Deeds of Their Past) started innocently enough, but swiftly expanded beyond his original plan of writing a novella. Soon, it was all he could think about. He grew to care about his two main characters, Nathan and Brohm, and their relationship built on the trust they had for each other.

If you enjoyed this first book, rest assured that their adventures will continue. Mike is in the process of writing the second part, however a release date is still unknown.

Thank you for your interest.

Deftly written fantasy novel, but it's not a romance in the classic sense, and I wanted there to be more emotional depth to the characters. They do demonstrate loyalty and love in the face of constant peril, but there is very little sexual tension between them. This becomes wearying by the end. One feels that the author was avoiding writing the sex scene for as long as he could.

On the plus side, it was very well edited. I sensed that the author's copy editor made quite a difference and worked hard to beat the prose into shape!

Very good story, just wish there had been a bit more romance.
