About Praveen Radkris

Radkris is a freelance writer who holds a Masters in Electrical Engineering and currently works as a Research & Development Engineer in a multi-national, semiconductor corporation. Having grown up with books and impressed since an early age by his father’s long career as a policeman, he has always been inspired by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s Sherlock Holmes, and finally felt it time to pay tribute. Thus he wrote ‘The Adventure of Black Drop’.

Despite his background lacking any official seal certifying his literary mettle, Radkris takes to the pen, naturally, after his father who has held this mightier instrument and that mighty steel – in his thirty one long years as a policeman bringing criminals to justice.

Radkris brings to his literary work two attributes that are purposefully intertwined – worldly imagination inculcated by his love for words and the exactitude of science, ingrained in him by his vocation, to sculpt this imagination. Through the experience of writing this novel, he also seems to have attempted to have ‘learnt the trick’ which Watson failed to, but he leaves this claim to the observant reader to assess.

Book release: The Adventure of Black Drop
Authors usually read a chapter from their books. I've attempted to go a step furhter. This is a video of me enacting a scene from my book 'The Adventure of Black Drop', leading to a speech about Sherlock Holmes and why I'd chosen to write. ~ Radkris.
