Geoff grew up in Indianapolis, surrounded by books and baseball, ultimately seduced by the concrete and asphalt of Los Angeles and a desire to live a film noir lifestyle. I would recommend this for people who like crime novels with an offbeat sense of humor.

What a great novel! It's almost impossible to find crime fiction with that dash of twisted humor to make it all come together, but dare I say this is the perfect blend.

The fun here isn't in the mystery, since we learn pretty early in the novel the identity of the bad guy, but rather in the writing. It's just one hilarious character and absurd situation after another. I lost count after a while and each one is connected to the complex, interwoven plot. Every victim has a personality and a bizarre backstory, all the witnesses and suspects have attitude and agendas, and the hero is borderline insane. What ties it all together is the kick ass leading lady, one of the best women characters I can remember. She's sassy, volatile and filled with memorable one-liners. Every scene with her, which is most of the book, just explodes off the page.
Bottom line: this is a very funny book, there are lots of laughs, and the story is a page turner.

Hugely entertaining! Finished the whole book in one night, it was just too good to put down. Filled with clever writing, zany characters and really funny dialogue.

I'm a sucker for quirky crime novels, and this one kicks off with the bad guy literally on fire and arguing with a lunatic, so no big surprise it's getting five stars from me. Great characters, really funny lines of dialogue and plenty of sex, drugs and violence to keep things moving. A really great read, I just hope there's a sequel coming!

I always download a handful of ebooks before I travel so I can try something new (and cheap), but also just to make sure I've got something to do when I'm stuck in an airport for eight hours. Some of them are okay and some are terrible, but every once in a while I come across something really surprising that makes taking chances on all those awful ebooks with endless typos seem really worthwhile.
Minor Adjustment is one of those great ones, it totally got me through my crazy flight with my sanity intact. It's funny and has lots of memorable dialogue and a bunch of outrageous characters. It made me think of a Carl Hiaasen novel the way it made me laugh out loud in one moment and then turned right around the next and made me worry about what would happen to my favorite characters. The main character is a really likeable heroine, the novel has a little bit of L.A. flavor which I liked, and overall it's just a good novel. This was probably my favorite ebook from my last vacation. Highly recommended!
