LOL. I'm glad I am not the only one! What do I mean by that? If you have not read this book, you will be in for a bit of a um, how do I put this...shock, maybe? This book took me completely off guard. I didn't know what to expect, and it sounds like other readers had the same reaction. Why? Well, because although it was paranormal, it was surprisingly wacky, wonky, uh different. How? I'm probably not going to be able to explain this in a way that makes sense, but that is because the book was written in a way that not only snagged my attention, but also had me wondering if I should be slightly offended too.
Cobra was one of the rawest, but most real characters. I'm talking foul-mouthed, rude, unapologetic, and yet I got him. No way would I speak to or around my child the way he did, but he also cared for her. She was all he had and although he was bull-headed and crude, I thought others were just a bit to harsh in their judgement of him. The dialogue in this book was hilarious. Lots of swearing, name calling, plain speaking, back talking smack. I mean, seriously, no filters. From the talking cat, gargoyle statue, hot native american fairy with pink wings, afro american disco ghost, to the zombies. Lots going on in here, but dang, it was fun to read as long as you are not one of those people who are easily offended by all of the above mentioned swearing, etc. You get a mystery, a bit of romance, quite a bit of murder, humor, and a bit of a cliffhanger. Of course you do. There is definitely another book coming and we had to be left wondering what will happen with Zoe, and I still don't trust the mayor. ;)
Do I recommend this book? For a bit of "what the hell" and "seriously", absolutely. This was pure entertainment.

Magic, Supernatural, Intrigue, and Humans all Rolled into ONE!
I just finished this book last night, and I have to say, I couldn't get enough of it! I needed to read it like I needed to eat! Not since Bonnie Bernard Created Howie Evil in her "Hunter Trilogy" have I been so intrigued with a tale! Easy to read, wonderful descriptions, you can visualize the scene as it unfolds! A story that can be read by most anyone Teen through Adult, that will both keep you in suspense wondering what is going to happen next, and warm your heart! The wild thing is it will happen at the same time! You will also wonder "whodunit?" but that would be telling! Rest Assured, you will be surprised by Rest Inn Peace! I truly enjoyed this book!

Rest Inn Peace
"Welcome to Rest Inn Peace, where life begins at the end of the road."
Well, I have to begin by saying that this was sure a humdinger of a story and I am sure that no other author could twist a story the way this particular author did. I was extremely shocked and in awe about the events that took place in this story, particularly the ending. I absolutely loved all the characters in the story and how the author brought magic, suspense, mystery, and comedy into each one of these admirable creatures and the ingenious twists and turns that only this author can pull off. This was a spectacular story from beginning to end and I kept having to read more just to know what happened next. This author's writing style is so unique and so intriguing that she makes you WANT to read the stories and knows how to keep you entertained for many hours of fun that is incorporated in this story. I can't say I have a favorite character in this book, as I have had in other books by this author but the names of these characters just blew me away. I mean, seriously, Fartuous, who is not going to find that comical and intriguing. This is an incredible RECOMMENDED READ that will stick with you for to come. You might even catch yourself fantasizing, daydreaming, and giggling at your favorite parts of the book long after you have finished it. I am even wanting to sneak back into the book just to re-read and enjoy all my favorite parts. I am also very interested in knowing how this author will top this very mysterious and addicting story. Thank you, Bonnie Bernard, for another incredible look into your crazy world. I give this book 10+ crazy stars!!

Rest Inn Peace
This book is definitely unique, and I’m not sure any other author could come up with a story like this. Right up until the very last page, I was still being shocked with the twists and turns and literally the last sentence made me think “WHAT??? NO!!!!!!!!” Now, obviously, I need more from this story because I want to see where it’s going, and more importantly, who is still going to be alive at the end of it all – the author is definitely not afraid to kill off characters! I loved the book and storyline from the very start, and just knew it wasn’t going to let me go until I turned the last page. It’s just hilarious, and you won’t have any other option but to laugh out loud, wherever you are. There’s strong language throughout the book, but you couldn’t have this story without it. If you’ve read anything else by this author, then you’ll love this, if you haven’t, you’re in for a treat.
What did I learn? Zombies can be good and go to church, magic is real – you just need to believe (ok, I knew that one), dragons love collecting stuff and yeti’s are diplomats that build bridges between all species.
One of my favourite quotes (which shows exactly what you’re letting yourself in for):
“How can I keep an eye on something I can’t even see?” “Exactly”. Reggie threw her hands up like it all made perfect sense. “This conversation is stupid.”
I received an e-copy from the author in exchange for an honest review.

"Rest Inn Peace" by Bonnie Bernard is a hilarious cross between humour and horror, you just could not make it up unless you were Bonnie herself.
The book is full of magic creatures who come to stay at the Rest Inn Peace, which is an Inn , not a motel. Since the death of the former Innkeeper Selma the place is in danger of being shut down. Selma's grandson, Corbin (or Cobra like he would prefer to be called and not snakeman as he is nicknamed at the Inn!) takes over together with his 12 year old daughter. Corbin has just been released from prison, has many issues and refuses to acknowledge anything remotely magic, although that proves difficult in Rest Inn Peace.
Bernard has created an amazing cast of creatures that populate the place: Billy the Fairyman, a family of Yeti's, Vampires, werewolves, Zombies, trolls and a "flamboyant disco ghost" to name a few. As the book states: The creatures who reside in it are 'badass bitches'.
The book is full of great on-liners, hilarious dialogue and witty observations. I hate to use the phrase in a review but I laughed out loud many times and hope I will remember the crazy metaphors and word creations.
With much love to detail and imagination the book is spiked with delights. The rooms and the creatures have some very odd and most original and entertaining names. There is some chemistry with the Inn Manager Regina or Reggie, but Cobra still wonders whether he should stay at all.
Then there are murders and Cobra learns that the magical realm is nothing to play with.
This is great fun to read although I must warn you - if you haven't guessed it yet - there is some fair amount of swearing and strong language.
This is a solid and original idea that works really well. There are some serious moments, too. Cobra has had substance issues and so has his ex-wife and so it is just as well that he is so far from human civilization.
A big fan of Bonnie Bernard's other books I found this even better and look forward to the next mad but genial creations she comes up with.
