Leo Ostapiv, CFO/Partner in the mobile development company Stanfy, Home Finances and Mobile apps expert, the Author of the book “Home Finances for Couples” and the blog www.homefinances.info
Leo started my financial career as an auditor in Deloitte & Touche in 2005. Since then, he has worked in different positions related to corporate financial management. Currently, he is CFO of the mobile software company “Stanfy” in Kyiv, Ukraine, and an independent consultant on managerial finance for small businesses.
Leo got the bachelor’s degree in Economics from Kyiv-Mohyla University (Ukraine) in 2003, and finished his self-financed MBA in 2011. Also, he passed all exams given by the Association of Certified Chartered Accountants (ACCA), a global body for professional accountants, and qualified for their membership in 2009.
Leo’s home finances journey began by recording all his expenses in Microsoft Excel in 2008. The underlying reason was to discover why he had a decent salary, modest lifestyle and yet neither assets nor savings. Over the years, Leo developed an advanced system with the usage of online financial software and regular financial health checks. He invented tricks and techniques to make managing personal money as easy as possible.

A Smart and Resourceful Guide for Couples
After a particularly bad gripping session with my mother about the issues my husband and I were facing financially my mother decided to purchase HOME FINANCES for COUPLES for us to try and help us find a little peace and security. At first I was hesitant, I figured I knew everything I needed to know and it was the rest of the world (and my husband) that was the problem, but I ended up reading this and I'm really glad I did. Leo Ostapiv really takes this confusion and troublesome subject and not only simplifies it for couples, but helps to ensure that once a couple reads the book they are better prepared to face financial issues together... smartly.
This guide is very thorough, offering a wealth of advice, tips and tools for couples to depend. He helps to identify problems, find solutions to common issues, provides smarter practices to ensure the couple is a cohesive unit and overall. just helps to swim through the mire of finances that many couples struggle and ultimately fail under. The book is well written, easy to understand and easy to easy as well. When I finished this I felt like I had actually learned quite a bit and even browbeat my husband into reading it as well so that we can both be on the same page from here on out. This was a smart read that I would definitely recommend to other couples struggling to resolve money problems now and in the future.

I would give this book 8 out of 10, maybe even closer to 9. The whole writing style is easy to understand even for non-financial person and it does made me think about right way to handle my money in the relationship. The best thing about the book are visuals. They don’t look like a professional designer’s artwork or anything, yet they really help to understand the financial stuff. Common sense strategy from Chapter 10 seems quite obvious, but I liked the details about saving and increasing income. Also the QA are quite valuable. That’s a good thing to have them in the book.
