There was shortage of specialists after the Bolsheviks revolution of 1917. There were a lot of accidents and technical failures on the coal mines of Donets Basin in the South of Russia.
Josef Stalin instructed OGPU to explain what had happened in mining industry as sabotage.

I had great mathematical education and work experience in the largest banks of St.Petersburg and Moscow in 1910 – 1917.
I worked as a consultant of Board of Directors of the Central Bank of the USSR in 1925 – 1930 and I was sentenced to 10 years in prison as a terrorist during this trial. I was sent to terrible Verhneuralsk prison.
