Molly stood suddenly and rushed into Seth's arms, pressing herself against his chest to sob.
It was one of the most awkward positions Seth had ever been in, but he knew what he was supposed to do. Dutifully, he wrapped his arms around her, holding her close and feeling the warmth of her body against his. All thoughts of vengeance faded away once Molly was in his arms. So this is what holding her feels like. She's so warm, and . . . vulnerable, and . . . beautiful.
“I miss Eamon so much,” Molly whispered. “I don't want you to die too. Don't know if I could bear it if you died too.”
A shaky hand went up to stroke her blonde locks, and Seth found himself holding her tighter, desperately almost. He inhaled the sweet fragrant scent of Molly's hair, soft vanilla and lilies, and his manhood began to stiffen, leaving him feeling ashamed. She could feel it. Seth knew she could. Their bodies were too close for her not to be able to feel it, but she didn't seem to care. He held Molly like they were the only two people in the world, his heart drumming fiercely in his chest, ponderously loud, nervous beats. These feelings are a betrayal. We shouldn't be doing this. But we're really not doing anything. It's just a hug.
But as soon as she pulled her head away from Seth's chest, looking up at him with hooded eyes, her lips slightly parted as she stared at his, he knew it wasn't just a hug. She wants me to kiss her. And I want to so bad. For a moment, Seth stared down at Molly's open mouth, wondering what it would be like to taste it. I bet she tastes as sweet as her hair smells. Maybe even sweeter.
In truth, he had dreamed about it many times before, tasting Molly's lips and savoring her body. He had even pleasured himself to those thoughts on many nights, though he had always felt bad about it afterward. That was when Eamon was still alive. Somehow, it didn't seem so wrong back then. They were brothers and had shared in everything until her. She was the one forbidden fruit, and that made Seth want her all the more.
***A note from the author:
Blood & Water is a series written from multiple points of view. The layout is very similar to George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire (more popularly known as Game of Thrones) where each character is given their own section.
