Taking Mom to Vegas

Rated 5.00/5 based on 2 reviews
Mom always loved Las Vegas. There is no reason why this trip should be any different just because she is traveling in a cardboard box.

A lighthearted story of relief, redemption and remorse as three women pay a final tribute to their mother by taking her to her favorite place. Full of humor, love, lies and lavish buffets, this is a goodbye to remember.

Linda's a magician. She can spin a surprising plot that's wickedly funny and make you want to keep turning pages and laugh all the way to the end. Want a break from the humdrum routines of daily life? Need some belly-laughs? Read this book!!

In the early pages of this hilariously twisted tale, I really wasn't sure if I was reading fiction or memoir. I mean this as high praise--the details were so precise, the characters so economically etched, that I figured they were drawn from real life. Later, as the story got weirder, I found myself really hoping it was fiction--because if it wasn't, then Linda Hull was in need of immediate professional help! One thing that Ms. Hull does not need help with, is being funny. She's a remarkably shrewd and unsparing observer who finds both laughs and truth in bleakness. I will never eat at a Las Vegas buffet again! And I found myself oddly grateful that my own Mom had chosen interment, thereby sparing us the preposterous dilemma of what to do with the ashes.

I know that woman! She received a fabulous memorial from her three daughters.

Great work, Linda! I know it is fiction, but the real mom is so very proud of you.
