Fashionably Dead

Rated 5.00/5 based on 3 reviews
Vampyres don’t exist. At least I didn’t think they did ‘til I tried to quit smoking and ended up Undead. My libido has increased to Vampyric proportions and my attraction to a hotter than Satan’s underpants killer Vampyre is not only dangerous . . . it’s deadly. Hell, if I’m in charge of saving an entire race of blood suckers, the Undead are in for one hell of a ride. More

About Robyn Peterman

Robyn Peterman writes because the people inside her head won’t leave her alone until she gives them life on paper. Her addictions include laughing really hard with friends, shoes (the expensive kind), Target, Coke with extra ice in a styrofoam cup, bejeweled reading glasses, her kids, her super-hot hubby and collecting stray animals.
A former professional actress, with Broadway, film and T.V. credits, she now lives in the south with her family and too many animals to count. Writing gives her peace and makes her whole, plus having a job where you can work in your underpants works really well for her. She loves to hear from her fans.

Love it!
As already mentioned in other reviews, this book is not your normal paranormal romance. The character is not the normal weak heroine and the author kept the main character 'human' enough. It's humorous and at the same time serious (if you consider the character's thoughts deeply).
Definitely a book you'll want to keep in your library~you should know what that means!

'Fashionably Dead' is the story of Astrid, a woman who tries to quit smoking and winds up a Vampyre.

This book is really different to anything else I've read in the urban fantasy genre. The author has an excellent sense of humour and this is what gives the book it's unique flavour. There are insanely steamy sex scenes, hilariously outlandish characters, crazy situations, and a whole heap of unusual supernatural stuff. It's a very fun and engaging read that really gets you caring about the various characters as the story goes on. This is a brilliant start to the series and I will definitely read the next book.

Highly recommended to fans of urban fantasy and paranormal romance!

What a way to start a series!

This is not your typical vampire story. You have a young woman turned without consent, who doesn't know if she wants to be a vampire. She is thrown into a crazy new world with a foul mouth angel- who loves to call her anything beginning with ass except Astrid which is her name-and a fashion challenged fairy when he bothers to wear clothes-as guides. Her abnormal BFF is super excited to be friends with one of the undead. Of course, she has the hots for a very dangerous vampire which can complicate things. Then there is the issue with the little monsters that live on her ceiling...

I loved the complexity of the story. There was so much going on and every bit of it connected to some important detail of the story. The characters were hilarious and genuine and they have wonderful chemistry between them. This was a book that I didn't want to put down. It kept me riveted and was a major contributor to insomnia due to binge reading. It does end on a cliffhanger so be prepared to give in to the impulse to buy the sequel. I honestly can't wait to get my hands on the next installment.
