An uneven Steampunk robot story. Set in the late 1800s, there is very little sense of time or place, and a general lack of description. The mayor was male, but how old or fat or thin is never revealed. Eventually, the janitor turns out to be black.
The story itself is a simple action plot with some satisfying violence against a machine.
