About Mary McMahon

Mary M. McMahon has been a lawyer engaged in the practice of criminal law for over seventeen years. She is a member of the bar in several states, federal, and tribal courts, practicing at both the trial and appellate court levels. She became well-known for her representation of Native Americans charged with violent crimes and has assisted tribal governments implement changes in their criminal court system in a variety of roles. She was selected by her peers as a Super Lawyer within two years of her graduation from law school.

She was as an adjunct law school professor where she taught trial and appellate skills and has taught several continuing legal education classes to other lawyers. In addition, she served as a criminal justice representative to South Africa. She has also been asked to speak at several Native American events and was a guest speaker at several prison pow wows. Ms. McMahon continues to write novels inspired by her experiences and as a tribute to the jurors who work so diligently to ensure that justice prevails within our system.

Seeing Red is Mary’s second published work. Her first book Once a Warrior was published in 2007. After repeated requests for a sequel from her readers, Seeing Red was born. Mary is currently working on the third book in her four book series.
