Pat Harris has seen education from every angle, practical and theoretical; she taught for over 20 years in secondary schools in London and the South East of England, then studied history as part of her Open University Humanities degree when she retired. It was when she started research into family and community history that she developed a passionate interest in women's education.
'Against the Odds' reflects not only her interest as a historian, but also as a teacher, in the development of women's education.
Pat Harris splits her time between her house near London, and France, where she lives aboard an English narrowboat. She is married and has one grown up daughter.
