This is a short story that is superbly written in a way that handles some very sensitive issues extremely well. The reader can empathize with the central character as she battles to be free of the destructive influence in her life of a man who is determined to control both her and life around her. Throughout the story the reader is pulled along the path of two sides of a coin, on one hand there is a growing story of a love so deep there is nothing else in life and the flip side that portrays how a life can be destroyed by someone who wants nothing more than a trophy that never steps out of line. We walk through a perceived betrayal of trust and love and the burgeoning realisation that sometimes this is a false picture that is conjured from the fear caused by a life of abuse.
I would not hesitate to recommend this to any adult
