Pure Phallusy

Rated 4.50/5 based on 2 reviews
Being beautiful actually sucks. Charlie's always known this. She's been kidnapped and taken into magical worlds where anything goes, Gods, demons, faeries, elves, the usual ensemble of human cross animals like centaurs, and then there's humanoid penises called phalluses. It would be funny, but there are dark and scary things too, and Charlie's stuck in the middle. She's not a happy bunny. More

About Rowan Brigid McShane

Born and brought up in Wales, within the grounds of Penrhyn Castle, I've always been a bit of a dreamer and romantic, which is no wonder considering the scenery.

Outside of the silliness about phalluses, this is a very decent book. Brett is too shallow and his being allowed to follow is detracting from the story, but the rest of the characters are well thought out. The book has good pacing and you're never waiting long for something new to happen. Hopefully magic use becomes much more prevalent by Charlie, as that is when the book is most interesting. Better spelling and grammar than most of the offerings by indies.

Loved this novel, helped motivate me to write my own.
Brilliant use of language really talented writer.
It had a dark feel to it with a comical twist, like a modern day beauty and the beast, loved the hint of romance blossoming.
There was never a dull moment, the novel kept surprising me. I formed a bond with Charlie and followed her as she was dragged through a whole hidden world. Really intriguing, very clever as far as how it was written and definitely would read again in a heart beat.
It's a curl up and don't let go novel that's for sure. I loved it and I don't like a lot of books.
