This is a souvenir of a spoof; how and why Oscar's - the now famous fake trawler restaurant in Brixham, Devon, England - was hosted by TripAdvisor. The story received a massive amount of news coverage and the book contains links to more than fifty articles from all over the world. Some of the news headlines which the story attracted were; 'Divers catch your food'; 'Something fishy. Michelin starred seafood restaurant turns out to be a hoax'; 'TripAdvisor compares imaginary venue with worlds best eateries'; 'Fake restaurant on TripAdvisor sends diners to alley filled with garbage' and 'A fishy business. TripAdvisor falls victim to fake Brixham restaurant'. The spoof was translated into Hebrew, Arabic, Chinese and most European languages and in almost three months Oscar's received eleven reviews and was ranked by TripAdvisor as 29 out of 64 for Brixham restaurants.Only when journalists contacted TripAdvisor was it removed. Please note that, since the book sets out to highlight TripAdvisor's apparent inability to spot untrue and harmful reviews, the authors fully expect that some powerful people will be less than delighted and could be responsible for generating a lot of poor reviews.
