About Rish Outfield

Rish Outfield is a failed writer, failed actor, and pretty much failed human being. Still, he manages to get up in the morning/afternoon because of you, good sir or ma'am. Someday, he plans to thank you in person.

Rish is a fan of Horror films, Eighties music, and the television work of Joss Whedon. He enjoys chasing after frogs, talking about comic book characters, and thinking about the Star Wars Trilogy. He is a voice actor and podcaster, and can be heard co-hosting the Dunesteef Audio Fiction Magazine and That Gets My Goat podcasts, where he and Big Anklevich waste much of their time, hopefully entertainingly.

He has been a writer of short stories all of his life, but has only recently begun to share his work with others. He once got a job because of his Sean Connery impersonation, but has lost two due to his Samuel L. Jackson impression.

Mmm, gives me chills. This incredibly short offering is well-written and spooky. I found it for free on Smashwords. I can't really say much more or I'll spoil it.

I recommend this to folks who like a quick scare.

I added it to Goodreads, but couldn't get the cover pic to stick.

A quick flash horror fiction here.

Well-told story in 500 or so words, fairly mundane horror plot, but well encapsulated and written.

Following the advice in the reviews below; I would have liked line-breaks between the paragraphs. It looks better and is easier to read. And your cover is fine, but if you're aiming for the premium catalog, it looks the wrong shape to me [needs to be 2400 x 1600 pixels].

Welcome to Smashwords.

Just an addendum to my first review. Love the cover and welcome to Smashwords, Rish.

An entertaining, succinct little piece of flash-fiction. If I say much more than the author's description then I'll give away the trick ending. About the only other thing I could add in way of a hook would be: if you ever wondered what those weird hyper-religious folks around the corner were hiding, this is probably it. Very poignant, disquieting, and I must say that I have rarely read a tale that told this complete a story in 500 words. A word of advice for Rish (and my only word of advice) would be to post the Smashwords agreement in place of your own and to add a cover, even if it be just a cheesy Paint cover. That way you can get this awesome story into Smashwords' Premium Catalogue and get your well written works out to your awaiting public! I'll definitely be waiting for more horror by Rish.
