My name is Yvette Wren and I am a new author, I write books and I also aspire to write for TV and Film. Things you read from me may be funny, serious, edgy and maybe even controversial. I haven t crossed the controversial bridge yet, but I m not afraid to go into uncharted territory. I am also a recording Engineer! You may ask yourself what someone who has a degree in recording and music knows about writing books. Or you may be asking why I am not pursuing the recording dream. Well I do both. I've found writing is my outlet. It s something I do without even thinking, it comes easy and natural. It s something I do for Yvette and so other people may hopefully read and enjoy. Recording to me is a career, and with recording I actually feel like I m helping others with their dreams by making their music sound the best it can. Writing is my own dreams come true. Diamonds are Forever is my fist novel and it is based on the block I grew up on and some people I knew, in what now feels like another life. We shared a lot of good times and some bad ones. I wanted to keep the block alive in some way and the memories I hold near and dear. This was my way. Even though Diamond is a very fictional character and the book is fiction, it is real in my heart. The book is about a young girl s perseverance to overcome obstacles placed in her way. We all have been through the pivotal point in life where our choices affect our future more profoundly than maybe some other choices have and in a more direct way. As I state in the press release, one of the choices is whether or not to go college. The decision you make on this will impact your future and I m not saying if you don t go your future is bleak or non existent, but I am a strong believer in education and just gaining knowledge period. As the saying goes the more you know the more you grow, and I believe a lot of times in our urban hoods , if that s all we know is the neighborhood, than we are missing out on the full potential that life has to offer, or what all life could possibly be.
