About Todd Calfin

The Keys To The Palace Of Bliss is an autobiographical fairy tale. During my 22 years of blissful wanderings, I have been described as a contemporary Pied-Piper/Peter Pan. The tales told by the main character, Theo, are the unbelievable true stories from my own direct experience, on the road in 80 countries, living solely from the magic of the flute.

Palace represents Society. The Great Emperor is Man's Greed and Incessant Thirst For Power. The Chief Adviser represents the Absurdity of The Intellect. The Princess symbolizes Purity, Childlike Innocence. And finally, Theo - the Master Teacher pointing to the full moon. We must not be afraid to journey into the Unknown! We must look within and discover The Palace of Bliss! I am convinced that this is a simple and essential Guide to Living a Spiritual Life. I just hope it gets the attention it deserves.

I can hardly find the words to express how much I admire Todd Calfin’s The Keys to the Palace of Bliss, but let me try.

This little gem is at once hauntingly familiar and utterly original. It is a small classic, right up there with Saint-Exupery’s The Little Prince as a fairy tale for grown-ups, and Kahlil Gibran’s The Prophet as a remarkably simple and charming expression of profound truths about life.

To say it is suitable for all ages would be an understatement. It should be required reading for all ages.

I suppose I am worldly, educated, and some might say jaded. Most modern spiritual books and new-age philosophies leave me cold, with their overreaching and often syrupy platitudes. Calfin’s book, in complete contrast, got right through to me with its unassuming grace, like self-evident wisdom spoken by a precocious child.

It took me maybe an hour to read and I don’t think I will ever forget it. Do yourself a big favor and READ THIS BOOK. (David Katz/ author of Round Trip and Conspiracy)

I love stories that mix life's wisdom with colorful story telling. So many stories of this nature are too didactic and become boring. I'm often disappointed by stories that have too much philosophy and not enough imagery. I honestly thought this was going to be one of those stories but I was pleasantly surprised to find that The Keys to the Palace of Bliss entertained my childlike fascinations while feeding my adult yearning for spiritual awakening. Check it out. It's worth a go!

A MAGICAL TALE! A MUST READ! Todd Calfin offers us the Keys to Bliss! He brilliantly weaves together true travel tales of great wonder, Zen wisdom & humor, and a story line that flows and nourishes like spring water. I feel completely refreshed, practically rebirthed, from this awesome reading experience. Much like Coelho's The Alchemist, The Keys To The Palace Of Bliss is a simple story with profound truths! I actually enjoyed this story more than The Alchemist! The Keys offer me a secret place of refuge in this rather chaotic Universe of ours and gives me hope that true happiness is actually attainable. I truly wish to thank the author for birthing this literary treasure! It is a work that I will cherish forever! Thank you! From my heart to yours, Andrea Finkle

Review by: loren wheeler on Oct. 12, 2013 :
Todd Calfin transmits a level of truth on par with Khalil Gibran and Paolo Coelho! He walks in a powerful lineage of truth-tellers with this parable! He clearly and consciously invites us to let go of all that stands between us and bliss as his story unfolds. There is a tremendous depth of experience and wisdom synthesized into this beautiful parable of immense wonder. This is a great service to the world, to tell a beautiful and humorous story, inviting the listener into an experience of wonderment and intrigue, while consistently radiating messages which are universally common and profound: love; truth; the journey of life; how to live in the world and enjoy the many splendors while being grounded fully in the natural simplicity of abundance as it is so effortlessly provided when we are open to receive! I bow to Toddy and the light which he radiates. May we continue to feel this love which Toddy so eloquently transmits, and to spread its simple truth unto all beings and places at all times. Much love and aloha. My breath to yours, Toddy. -Loren Edward Wheeler
