Half-human, half-cat, Toby is a plucky critter on a mission. When a Voice calls to him to go and find ‘them’, he is ready and willing to go, even though he doesn’t know yet who ‘they’ are. As Toby explores a world completely unlike the one he grew up in, his spiritual and physical adventures teach him much about himself. Fast-paced with vivid description, the story keeps the reader engaged. The vocabulary and theme can sometimes be elevated, so parents may want to read Toby along with their child. Reminiscent of both The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe and The Phantom Tollbooth, Toby will appeal to kids of all ages.
