Cultures and personalities clash in this family saga set in California's fertile Delta and the Bay Area 1955 to 1980. Carlos, a Mexican immigrant, wants to marry Rose, but her Chinese family objects; their son, confused about his own sexuality, experiments in far-away New York City. Cherry, daughter of divorce, struggles with her own demons and the responsibilities to her illegitimate daughter.

Joanne Orion Miller has joined the e-publishing revolution and is in the process of uploading books and stories to Smashwords. She is the author of five print books on travel/history and contributor to many more.
