About Annette Hawkins

Author, living in South-West France, whose passions include reading and writing sexy romances, and sunflowers.

I started writing seriously when my husband and I moved to the South West of France in 2005. We bought our “rural escape from the rat-race” - a traditional Gascogne farmhouse - in 2000 but it wasn’t until visiting the region on holiday over the following five years, and falling in love with the countryside and our French neighbours, that we decided to move here permanently.

Opting for a complete career change, I started designing and selling dichroic glass jewellery, mainly at the local craft fairs and weekly French markets in the region, and was fortunate to meet an eclectic range of interesting people.

To while away the time between customers, I kept an A4 notebook at hand to scribble down concepts for my stories which I set in some of my favourite exotic locations around the world. Especially those I had the chance to visit during my career pre-France.

The fact that I was dreaming up erotic romance novels while working on a market stall amused my French and English clients no end, and I had the great fortune to receive support and encouragement from a couple of published authors, to whom I am eternally grateful.

Since my first attempt to get published, I have written several other romances which I intend to publish soon.

In my spare time, I teach English to adults at debutant and intermediate level.

Thanks to my special liking for weird book covers and hilarious titles, I am discovering really good romance novels lately.
But judging from the handful of reviews on smashwords and, people with such a secret fetish seem to be in the minority.
And this is such a shame in this case!
Because cover and title don't do this book any justice!

Our protagonists Laure and Todd meet in a small village in Southern France. She works as a location scout for the film industry and he is a famous Hollywood movie director.
Laure thinks she has found the perfect location for Todd's next blockbuster, but Todd disagrees... and not politely!
He is harboring a secret and suspects Laure to know more about him than she lets on.
And then they get kidnapped and three men take them to a secluded villa in the middle of nowhere....

So enough of me rehashing the plot here....
This book is really worth a read!
If you are curious enough to find out if French males have the stamina all the world is talking about or if this is just a rumour, grab this book!
Oh, man! Reading about Todd's special skills made me feel dizzy and I was standing on wobbly legs afterwards.
Or was this because of the incredible amount of coffee I drank during this read?
No matter why, the story was so gripping, I simply had to read it in one sitting...

Besides a serious makeover for cover and title, this book needs a little editing... not much, just a little...

After reading Annettes first book, I couldn't wait for another one to come out, and I wasn't dissapointed! Would have liked to have found out why Dominique was so against Laure though...
Looking forward to the next book.

Another good read with interesting characters, amazing chemistry and smoking hot sex to boot! The story was not as well fleshed out as I would like especially for Todd/Luc. His aversion to publicity was kept back for too long and the whole misunderstanding with the wife was more annoying than anything. Still an overall good read and cannot wait to read more from this author.
