I LOVE Regency Romance. I have the first book of this series sitting on my shelf, waiting to be read. I have wanted to read a book by Donna Hatch for quite a while. I am glad that I am taking part in this tour, just so I have a reason to set aside time to read this book.

The story begins with heartbreak. Genevieve marries the wrong man to save her father from a charge of treason. She marries an abusive and cruel man. She breaks the heart of an honest and caring gentleman.

One year later finds her battered and emotionally spent. She has just miscarried and tries to throw herself into a river to end her unhappy life. Fortunately, Christian, the man she loved and lost, sees her attempt and rescues her from the river. It is a tough situation for both of them. He doesn't understand why she married someone else, and she isn't free to let him know she still cares for him.

The writing in this book is wonderful. Donna has done a wonderful job at pulling me in the story. Her characters are believable and I actually cared about what happened to them. I will be getting to the first book as soon as I possibly can. I would love to find out more about the brother's featured in this series.

A Perfect Secret is filled with many secrets. Christian has them and so does the lovely Genevieve and her father as well. Love, loss, guilt and heartbreak. Christian rescues a women trying to kill herself and he is shocked and confused at who he finds. The women who broke his heart. Genevieve has endured much at the hand of her husband. Christian is a gentleman and feels the need to help Genevieve. A plan is set in motion and Christian reminds himself frequently that Genevieve is not for him. That she jilted him. A trip to the Scottish border to see Christian’s sister Rachel proves enlightening. Rachel and Genevieve become fast friends. Genevieve becomes a big help to Rachel with her work. Rachel is 32 and unwed. She loves science and has a quick mind and tongue. I really like her. Secret messages are delivered to Genevieve that are positively frightening. So, she finally tells Christian as she feels his life and Rachel’s life are in danger. Another plan is made and this time Christian asks Grant his older brother for help. This is a hard thing for Christian to do, but very necessary. Lord Wickburgh is a mad man and lives are lost and ticks are played. So, will Christian be able to protect Genevieve from her crazy husband? Will they be able to be together? Will all the secrets come out? Will they bring them closer together or tear them apart? Read it to find out. You will be happy you did. This is another brilliant story by Donna Hatch. I found the plot intriguing and I could not stop reading as I had to see how things played out. I was thrilled with all the surprises throughout the story but especially the surprises at the end. A thrilling story that I would recommend to anyone who loves romance.
Just FYI~ This has no swearing or sexual situations.

I was thrilled to find Hatch had written about the "perfectly perfect" Christian and I was not disappointed. I have always loved to read romance novels but it can be difficult to find a good love story without all the smut and sex that are usually thrown in. I am so pleased to have another clean romance by someone who knows how to tell a great tale. A wonderful addition to the Amesbury family. I enjoyed getting to know Christian and to see his insecurities. I very much look forward to more. (Like who would fall for Grant and cause him to show the soft spot he has underneath.)

Wow!! What a story. I loved it from beginning to end. Christian's story was well worth the wait. I love how the Amesbury family is always there for each other. I started reading and couldn't put this book down. I read until 2:00 and had to stop until morning. I loved how the storyline held my attention all the way through. You will get no spoiler from me. It is well worth the time. I read it in one day and didn't accomplish much else. Donna Hatch is one of my favorite authors. You hit this one out of the park. I am anxiously awaiting the next one.

It is fun to get reacquainted with the Amesbury brothers and learn more about Christian this time. Not only do we get to learn his story, we find out how the brothers of the first two books are doing after those books ended. We also learn about the past of the entire family and about one of the sisters as well--who is someone I hope we hear more about. I don't want to post any spoilers so I'll just say that I devoured the book in a single evening and thoroughly enjoyed it. If you haven't read the first two books I think this one could still stand on its own and won't hinder you reading the others out of order.
