Tessa Donovan meets Cooper Krenshaw when he's booked to sing in her bar by her brother. Cooper first met Tessa's brother, Adam while at college & they've kept in touch all these years, even after Coop's rise to fame. So when Adam asks Cooper to come sing at the bar, Coop thinks it's just what he's been looking for. He's been looking to get back to his roots for awhile & when he gets to Devil's Bend he finds more than just a gig at a bar. He finds his dream.

Tessa has been trying to chase her dreams for years, but when Cooper snatches them right from under her, she gracefully concedes because she knows that he will be able to build them much faster than she ever would. She doesn't want to let him close, but he won't take no for an answer & he pushes her to let him in.

I really like that Cooper refused to let Tessa keep pushing him away, but damn did he have some real dumbass moments. Dude took the caveman routine to the max a few times & really made me want to slap him upside the head. But on the other hand, Tessa would have tried the patience of a saint. I was glad she finally got smart & gave the poor man a break.
