About Erik Morales

Dr. Erik E. Morales is a recognized authority on resilience, and Professor/Chair of Education at New Jersey City University in Jersey City, New Jersey. He received his B.S. in English Education and his Ph.D. in Higher Education from New York University, and his M.Ed. in Education Administration from William Paterson University. He has published more than fifteen articles in scholarly journals, as well as three books on resilience: Promoting Academic Resilience in Multicultural America (Peter Lang Press, 2004), A Focus on Hope: Fifty Resilient Students Speak (University Press of America, 2011), and How to be a Rubber Band: A Formula for Living Resilience Every Day (In-Touch Press, 2013). He has done presentations on resilience to high school students, k-12 teachers, university students/faculty, and community agencies throughout the United States and internationally.
