About Cherime MacFarlane

Meet Award-Winning, Best-Selling Author Cherime MacFarlane. A prolific multi-genre author, she has a broad range of interests that reflect her been there-done that life. Romance, Historical Fiction, Fantasy, Paranormal, all sorts of characters and plots evolve from a vivid imagination.
I came to Alaska kicking and screaming in 1976, and I never want to leave. I cut firewood on shares for money to get through the winter. I swore I would not live above the Alaska Range because it was too cold there and wound up in the Copper River Basin where it got just a cold as Fairbanks.
My second husband, a Scot from Glasgow, was the love of my life. When I write Scots dialect, I experienced hearing it from my in-laws. Each time my husband got on the phone to Scotland after five seconds, I could hardly understand a word. I was my second husband's chief mechanic's helper and roadie.
I live in a cabin which is slowly being surrounded by the city and wish I were further out. My two cats and Husky-Collie mix dog are happy in our little slice of heaven called Alaska. In the silence of winter dreams of people and places provide a rich pool of ideas to explore.
As a reporter for the Copper Valley Views, Cherime MacFarlane received a letter of commendation from the Copper River Native Association for fair and balanced reporting.
Cherime won the Hardest Working Author Award from Author Classified.

What could be better than a great romance? A great romance/adventure, that’s what. And what could be better than a great romance/adventure? One that takes place in the last frontier.
Cherime MacFarlane writes from her intimate knowledge of Alaska, from the thriving city of Anchorage to remote wild places, via 4 wheel drive pickup truck, snowshoe and snowmachine, MacFarlane takes us from isolated scenic overlook to a romantic wilderness camping trip. We are allowed to eavesdrop on Native culture where everyone is related distantly and the only way to avoid 800 guests at your wedding is to make it quick, before word gets around. Throw in a mean ex-con hiding in a remote cabin, out to prey on elderly natives, intimidate innocent girls, and raid native bank accounts, a family that sticks together, where men are men who take care of their own, and a threat of frontier justice looms.

Review by: Ella Medler on Feb. 26, 2014 :
This book is a thrilling story of suspense, betrayal and ultimate trust in family ties, skilfully set against the beautiful background of Alaskan culture. Red is a woman perfectly able to deal with whatever life throws her way, though loneliness seeps almost unnoticed in every layer of her existence. Things only take a turn for the better when she begins to notice hunk and neighbor, PR, who’d held a flame for her for ages.
I won’t reveal any more of the plot, but let’s just say their relationship is great fun to read about, the dialogues are sharp and witty, and the intrigue the two protagonists get drawn into quickly transforms into a thriller, a fight for life which will keep you on the edge of your seat for hours.
The ending was superb, so well-done, and so satisfying. I wouldn’t have expected any less from such a strong community, but it felt good to see everyone got what they deserved nonetheless.
If you love the Alaskan wilderness, believe in family bonds and would like to read a different sort of suspenseful novel, completely original, then this is the book for you. I loved it.
