About Lyle Nicholson

LYLE NICHOLSON was born in British Columbia, Canada in 1952. He is the youngest of three sons born to a father who was a cook, and a mother who was a waitress. His father, who died when Lyle was 15, was a storyteller and an avid reader, something that Lyle adopted at an early age and never forgot. His life would lead him to travels in Europe, then five years in a Monastery. He found out he was not a good Monk, as poverty was easy—it was the chastity and obedience that was a bit of a stumbling block. He left the Monastery in 1979, and met and married his wife in 1982. There were several years where Lyle tried numerous businesses that either failed or he was fired. He hadn’t found his calling. Lyle spent two years working in the Security industry, providing Services and Systems for large oil companies in Calgary, Alberta, the nerve center for Canada’s oil. And then in 1988 he started his own company to sell safety work wear to oil companies in Canada and Alaska. His company was a success, and he retired in 2011, and began a career in writing. Writing was always one of his passions. He now lives in Kelowna, British Columbia with his wife of thirty plus years, where he indulges in his second career of writing, fine cooking and fine wines.
