After her short lived marriage ended in an annulment, Alexandra followed her dream and left the small Texas town of Fort Worth for New York City. She's surprised by her attraction to a soldier who's home on leave: Careful Alex, she thought, you're not ready for this, it's way too early. He'll be a civilian in six months; maybe then. He's deployed for six months duty to Afghanistan and promised to write. She's disappointed having received no letters after two months. He seemed so sincere, she thought.
