About Michael Hertz

Michael T. Hertz was born in New York City and has lived and worked in Halifax, Nova Scotia, California, Paris, Portland, Maine, and Eugene, Oregon. He worked for three years in the Paris law office of Coudert Frères, taught law at Dalhousie University Faculty of Law and at the law schools of Maine and Oregon. He practiced bankruptcy law for 27 years in California, published a law book, and wrote and published 17 lengthy articles on a variety of legal subjects. He was a foreign exchange student in Marseille at the height of the OAS reign of terror (1961-62). He resides permanently in Sechelt, British Columbia where he writes, plays jazz piano, bakes bread and makes beer and wine.
