Sharon is an entrepreneur, having worked in family businesses for most of her life, and currently owns Travel ID Cards. Her company started off marketing the KidsTravelCard, a photo ID for children, and expanded to include other unique products, as well as custom ID cards. While offering quality products is important, Sharon feels that the most important thing her company provides is stellar customer service.
Much of Sharon's inspiration for the KidsTravelCard came from her twin grandsons. At 20 months they were diagnosed on the autism spectrum, but now at 13 they are fully integrated in school, little league, and other activities. Learning how to be supportive for the boys and their parents meant learning about autism, about how special needs children affect a family, and how important the family support system is.
Sharon has been passionate about animal rescue after more than 25 years of raising orphan kittens. She no longer fosters kittens, but still works closely with rescue groups. Sharon's first book, award winning "Bottlekatz, a Complete Care Guide for Orphan Kittens" is currently being used as a training manual for rescue groups throughout the United States and the United Kingdom.
In 2008 Sharon joined the National Association of Professional Women. She then formed the first local chapter in the nation for the group, and served as the President for 3.5 years. She was very active in the organization, which now has over 400 chapters modeled on the one she started in Sacramento.
Sharon's second book, "From Hindsight to Insight: A Traditional to Metaphysical Memoir" was originally published under the title "...and the good lord remains anonymous." It's fast, easy to read, inspirational memoir, based on the premise that there are no accidents in life. We live and learn from our experiences, then live even better. This book includes a wide array of subjects, including suicide, Hell’s Angels, bi-polar disorder, congressman, Alzheimers, kittens, ghosts, animal communications, children, autism, building a business, NAPW, reincarnation, cancer, dealing with death, business failure, business success, knife wielding hitchhikers, and more.
Sharon just released her third book, "Faces of Rescue: Cats, Kittens and Great Danes". This book has over 80 full color pictures of animals she's raised, together with their stories. First you'll say "Oohhh" when you see the pictures, then you'll smile and be touched as you get to know each special little individual. You will also learn about animal rescue, and what you might do to help the animals in need in your area.
Sharon is currently working on another new book, which she hopes to have ready for publishing by summer of 2015. You can find her blog at sharonsdarrow.wordpress.com.
