Born in Savannah but raised on Sullivan’s Island, South Carolina, Laura Cooper is a true southern woman. She believes that iced tea should always be sweet and has an entire Pinterest Board with over a hundred different ways to cook shrimp.
Via an AOL chat room she met her husband of sixteen years, Chris Cooper. Together they have two children, (both in college at the same time) and fifteen, yes count ‘em, fifteen dogs.
Prior to writing novels, Laura ran a large pure breed rescue organization for homeless animals. She, Chris and the kids found homes for over six thousand homeless dogs until they retired three years ago.
Between calls begging for money (from her children) and squeaky toys, she somehow manages to embolden other southern women to explore their sexuality through reading. Claiming that fifty is the new thirty, Laura encourages her readers to examine themselves, crawl out from beneath the soccer mom status and live a little.

A marathon of sex, voyeurism, and discovery, with a little home and boat decorating thrown in. I like the way the author portrayed how it became "normal" for the main character being watched by ghostly entities all the time. Of course, all this with a "happily ever after" at the end.
I've updated this from my first review of 3 stars. I've now given it 5 stars because the story was updated and improved upon immensely. This is a good author that has continuously gotten better over time. for those that read her earlier works, might I suggest you re-read, or give some of her later work a chance. I think you will be quite satisfied. The improvements were enough to turn me around - an I'm an author myself, so quite hardened and unforgiving. This author may become the next Selena Kitt, or Anne Rice.

Amo a las Mujeres

I settled comfortably into the story as the characters developed their emotional and sexual ties. But then I was caught off guard by the untimely change of circumstances, taking Susan in a new direction. I eagerly followed her adventures on a cross-country trip, meeting new characters and filled with bold steamy sex. At the same time her emotional dilemna unfolds. Ultimately she returns home to come full circle, where the story comes to a clever, yet satisfying and natural conclusion.
The author’s detailed descriptions-- from the elegant interior settings to Susan’s sexual awakening while experiencing emotional highs, lows, and some unique plot twists-- put me at the edge of the action, and kept me intently “watching” as each scene unfolded.
