Meyari McFarland has been telling stories since she was a small child. Her stories range from adventures appropriate to children to erotica but they always feature strong characters who do what they think is right no matter what gets in their way.

The Ladies, mysterious mistresses of the sea, control all life on Muirin, including the humans they allow to live on their world. Their power changed humanity when they arrived and continues to shape their cultures as time progresses, including denying them the technology that once allowed them to travel between the stars.
Ten thousand years later, the population of Muirin has almost entirely forgotten their origin as space farers but there still a few families among them who have the daring that it took to travel between the stars in a fragile ship with no guarantee of finding a habitable world. The Ladies are still watching and studying humanity from under the waves, their motives and desires unknown.
