Tethered (The Avenlore Series)

Rated 4.00/5 based on 5 reviews
Dani always did want a fairytale and now she's living one, only childhood bedtime stories were never so dark and nefarious and the Princess isn't drawn to two captivating men at the same time. The decision should be easy, because one is spoken for, but the heart rarely concerns itself with such trivial details. More

About Tasha Van Der Hyde

I love to read. Love, love, love it. It is my escape to a place where anything is possible. Curling up with a book is essential therapy for me and I enjoy finding people who are similarly affected with reading fever.

I have been a closet writer for years, starting multiple books only to talk myself out of them, arguing to myself that writing was a silly dream and I didn't have the time to waste on it. One day something clicked and I thought, screw it...I'm gonna go for it. And I did! I finally completed a book and put it out there for the world to see. It was one of the scariest things I'd ever done and completely worth it. My first review from someone I didn't know blew my mind and at that point it became one of the most rewarding things I'd ever done. So, book one of my Avenlore Series,Tethered, is down, and book two is in the works! I would love to know what you think of this world, of Dani, Nik, and Liam!

Wow! I must say that I was pleasantly surprised when I downloaded Tethered and read it. The book is awesome. The story line sucks you in and I fell in love with the world Ms. Van Der Hyde created! The characters were realistic and I couldn't help put fall in love with a certain Knight! This book has it all....mystery, fantasy, action, and a love triangle with two swoon-worthy males! Dani the heroine is a wonderful change to the typical whiney females I've been reading about lately. She is a strong young lady and I can't wait to find out what happens next with all of these characters!

I did find a few misspellings but nothing that distracted me from the story. For a free story that was self-published, I think she did a great job. I've bought $9 books from bestselling authors that have had mistakes.

Overall, I gave the story five stars because it kept my attention and I want more!

I enjoyed the story immensely. It captured my imagination & held me enthralled to the very end! I want to read more & I look forward to the next book! I would have given it 5 stars, except for the rant worthy spelling & grammar issues! The grape trees in the orchard made me cringe! Therefore I'm only giving it 3 stars. I beg/encourage you to please, please, please get a professional proof reader to edit your manuscript BEFORE you publish! I want to enjoy reading your stories without being distracted by errors (being hopeless at grammar myself, they have to be bad for me to pick them up!). Best wishes & kind regards

I do agree with the previous review...great story, yet the grape orchard hurt a bit so it's 4/5. There are other errors as noted that a pair of fresh eyes could catch and edit to bring this novel up to the notch it deserves. However, the grammatical errors do not distract from this wonderful story. It takes talent to grab a reader's interest on the first few pages AND carry it through till the end. Its difficult putting our written word out there for others to read and judge...I applaud you. Look forward to the release of book 2.

It's a great story, but it does suffer from editing, grammar, and factual issues. Point of order: Grapes don't grow on trees in orchards, they grow on vines in vineyards! There are also a number of misused words, and sorting through them did get painful at times. Getting a better proofreader would make this a much better experience for the reader.

A wonderful story. It kept me entertained throughout the entire book. I couldn't put it down...impatiently waiting for the next installment.
