Violet Skies

Violet Skies is the first book in a YA series of the same name. Each book is a novella, short and easy to read. This is a fresh twist on classic fantasy, but it keeps its essential nature intact. The writing focuses on compelling characters first and appeals to fans and critics of the genre alike. Influences ranging from anime to Zelazny combine in a way familiar yet unique. More

Violet Skies offers a quick mental getaway. The novella affords readers the benefits of escapism, yet the fantastical world isn’t so complex that the reader loses focus on the actual story.

Fifteen year old Taya, the beautiful and gifted daughter of an Oracle, journeys with her mother to the City of Gold. Three unusual characters join them, and bring humor, romance and bravery to the story.

The gifted heroine’s travel spins into a life-threatening situation when she is tracked by a vicious hunter and his beast, whose supernatural powers are a formidable force for her and her allies to contend with.

My disappointment with this book was only that it is short, but the author promises us that Taya’s story will be continued in the Violet Skies series.
