Too Far to Whisper

Rated 5.00/5 based on 6 reviews
In 17th-century New England, an era when kissing in public is punishable by law, 20-year-old Rosalind Chandler finds herself experiencing strong desires – sinful ones – for a man who causes her to forget to breathe whenever she is near him. About Arianna Eastland

Arianna Eastland is a native New Englander whose fascination with the Native-American culture and its history in her area led her to read everything she could on the subject. One book she read alleged that many Pilgrim women who were kidnapped and held for ransom by Native-American warriors opted not to return to their husbands because they became infatuated with their captors. This gave Arianna the idea for her first romance novel, TOO FAR TO WHISPER, set in 17th-Century New England. When she is not writing, Arianna enjoys hiking, traveling and art. She also confesses that one of her guilty pleasures is watching TV reality shows.

After I finished reading this book, I thought, "The sequel can't be half as good," but the sequel had even more excitement in it, if possible! I have become totally engrossed in these characters and what happens to them next. Great writing!

I loved the suspense in this novel! The romantic triangle constantly had me guessing which man the heroine would end up with, and I still wasn't certain until the second to the last chapter! The author's writing style is different than most because she often described what other people besides the main characters were thinking and feeling, which really helped to enhance the plot. And if you enjoy reading very descriptive, very romantic details about lovemaking, then this definitely is the book for you!

I decided I would read only the first chapter this morning because I had so many other things to do, and before I knew it, it was nearly noon and I had read the entire book! I was so eager to find out what happened, I couldn't put it down! What a wonderful love story, with excellent character development and plenty of passion. I genuinely cared about the main characters and deeply felt many different emotions as I read the story. I'm really looking forward to reading more books by this author.

I enjoyed reading this story, I could not put it down - to the point I didn't remember to eat my supper. No "dead" spots or places where you twiddle your thumbs. Thank you very much!
